Nisus Thesaurus 1.1.1 - Integrated thesaurus for a variety of applications.. (Free)

Posted: 01 Aug 2012 03:46 AM PDT

Nisus Thesaurus is an integrated language reference for writers and editors.

Mac OS X comes with built-in spell checking for many applications, but why stop there? Now you can have an integrated thesaurus as well. With Nisus Thesaurus you get a fast electronic thesaurus that automatically integrates with any service aware application including Nisus Writer Express, Mail, TextEdit, Safari, and more.

Using Thesaurus is easy. Just select the word in your favorite application and choose "Nisus Thesaurus" from the "Services" sub-menu. When you select a word in Nisus Thesaurus, the synonyms for that word will be shown right next to it in the Word Browser. Go from "sky" to "cumulonimbus" in just a few clicks.

Nisus Thesaurus knows the English language. Using the WordNet lexical reference database, Thesaurus knows over 120,000 words and how they relate to each other. When you lookup a word in Nisus Thesaurus, it will show you related words in six categories. With its built-in dictionary, Thesaurus knows that sometimes the same word means different things. So it will never confuse the related words for "an orange" and "the color orange."

Get it now and let us know what you think. Tell us what you like, what you don't like, and what is missing. We want to make this an indispensable writing tool for you so send us feedback on what you would like to see!

Version 1.1.1:
  • Signed with an Apple Developer ID so it runs on Mac OS X 10.8 and Gatekeeper.

Newest game from Ragnarok Odyssey and Dokuro developer will be a free-to-play action-RPG featuring four-player online co-op.

Game Arts, the developers behind the Grandia and Lunar series, as well as recent fares like Ragnarok Odyssey and Dokuro, is working on a new action-RPG called Picotto Knights.

Plex Media Server 0.9.6.6 - Seamlessly connect your Plex clients with your local media.. (Free)

Posted: 01 Aug 2012 02:47 AM PDT

Plex Media Server seamlessly connects your Plex clients with all of your local and online media. The combination of centralized library management, streaming of online content, and powerful transcoding functionality provides an unrivaled level of flexibility and ease of use.

Plex Media Server runs on your Mac, PC, or compatible NAS device and serves your media to all of your Plex clients including Plex-enabled mobile devices and 2011 LG Smart TVs.

Features:

  • Effortlessly organize your media into a versatile library
  • Native Cocoa and web-based versions provide local and network access to management features
  • Automatically retrieve metadata from the Internet
  • Complete customization of your library with a few clicks
  • Automatic updates when new local content is added

Version 0.9.6.6:

New:

  • Added (advanced) preference for specifying location of Aperture/iPhone XML paths. The preference is ApertureLibraryXmlPath for Aperture and iPhotoLibraryXmlPath for iPhoto. Yes, we're going to have an easy way to get at these advanced preferences soon.
  • (Linux) Allow syslog logging via environment variable PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_USE_SYSLOG. This has been requested for ages.
  • (API) Massive performance improvement for players that ask for paged data (e.g. for Roku). If you have large library sections, you'll notice a big change; with 1000 items, the page requests are 6 times faster.
  • (API) Added /library/sections/X/{sorts|filters} endpoints for advanced filtering.
Fixed:
  • Sidecar (e.g. SRT) subtitle files work again. Sorry, that was a bad regression.
  • (Windows) Upload speeds from the server were artificially slow in some cases. We'd gotten sporadic reports over the months that upload speeds seemed limited, and we finally managed to track down the issue. The upload speed will now max out your connection, and will take much less CPU as well.
  • A crash when scanning for plug-ins when permissions are wrong.
  • (Mac) Fix some Aperture photos not displaying properly.
  • Library timeline could generate blank items occasionally.
  • Web interface didn't show added and deleted items properly when scanning.
  • Don't pass back bogus blank content ratings.
  • (Linux) DLNA icon and server name were missing on some platforms.
  • When overwriting plug-ins, files that don't exist anymore are deleted.
  • Handle 302 as well as 301 redirects in the image transcoder.
  • When scanning files that had already been scanned, they didn't end up with thumbnails.
  • Certain image formats (TIFF, BMP, PCX) didn't get thumb nailed.
  • Fixed sleep prevention, OS X (and possibly Linux) should sleep now.
  • (Windows) Fixed a crash on start.
  • (Synology) DLNA to PS3 wasn't working.
  • (DLNA) Memory leak in DLNA server process.
  • (DLNA) Fixed PS3 audio dropouts by transcoding to stereo for now in the profile.
  • (DLNA) Fixed evaluation of limitations.
  • (DLNA) Fixed AAC audio not playing to PS3.
  • (DLNA) Build-in profile now supports Samsung SmartTVs (thanks, holzi!)

There are 3 different modes for you to enjoy:
In Classic mode, you must clear the screen from the ever-falling bubbles. An irremovable ball is added to the screen for every negative point you get; once the bubbles reach the top of the screen, you lose! Clear through waves and waves of bubbles that fall faster and faster...and faster!
In Timed mode, you are presented with a screen that's already filled to the brim with bubbles. When you have cleared as much of the screen as you want, simply shake your device to get a new wave of bubbles to drop. But be quick! You only have 3 minutes to get as many points as you can!
The zen No-Limit mode is there to practice and perfect your swiping mastery, or simply enjoy the beautiful bubble physics.

Featuring:
- Intuitive controls
- Fluid, original gameplay concept
- A fun physics engine
- 3 different modes for endless bubble fun
- Gorgeous colorful artwork
- Catchy soundtrack
- Scoreloop online scorekeeping, allowing you to keep the same profile across multiple devices
