Gutenprint is a set of very high quality drivers for printers, with particular emphasis on inkjets.

Gutenprint is the new name for the Gimp-Print project.

- Printer modes for most printer models are now determined by the media, based on information from the corresponding Windows driver. If an incompatible mode is selected by the user, a suitable mode is substituted, based on the other active parameters and quality setting. Modes are also substituted based on cartridge selection and duplex selection. Inktype is then automatically adjusted.
  Since the printer itself converts the data sent to the printer into the actual inks used, the format of the data sent to the printer is rather strict, and the relationship between this data and the actual inks is often unknown.
- Added support for 8-bit inks to Canon backend, and modes using
- them.
- Adjusted margins and page sizes of Canon printers.
- Added borderless functionality to most Canon printers (except S series and BJC series). Borderless uses photo modes, and should therefore be usable for all photo media. For plain media and Hagaki or Envelope media, there is currently no mode substitution to use photo colors only in place of the normal modes, and therefore borderless may work incorrectly or not at all. It is therefore recommended to use borderless only for photo media until further development.

Worlds tallest building will be built in China, over 90 days

Broad Sustainable Building (BSB) is an innovative Chinese architectural firm whose mission is to erect "medium-cost, super-saving utility buildings and to promote a futuristic urban lifestyle." They are planning to build the world's tallest building, the Sky City Tower in Changsha, Hunan, whose 220 storeys will be erected in 90 days. The timelapse video above shows another BSB project, a 30-storey hotel that went up in 15 days. The company claims its designs are extremely seismically robust and environmentally efficient. Its 220 stories will provide a total of 1 million square meters of usable space, linked by 104 elevators.
Zhang said Sky City is expected to consume a fifth of the energy required by a conventional building due to BSB's unique construction methods, such as quadruple glazing and 15-centimeter-thick exterior walls for thermal insulation.
The company's construction methods also seem to save money.
According to Chinese newspaper 21 Century Business Herald, the total investment in Sky City is RMB 4 billion (US$628 million), compared with US$1.5 billion on Burj Khalifa and US$2.2 billion on Shanghai Tower.
